sms2work offers a fair way in: a formal path to paid work, and the hope that comes with it.
Developed in 2014, sms2work waited for the payment platforms it needed. Those exist now, and sms2work is back.
How sms2work works
Unemployed and under-employed workers join a database that hirers can search.
Every worker is listed by skill and level of experience.
Hirers send job requests by SMS to the right workers, without seeing names or numbers.
Booked days are blocked in the calendar, so other workers get the next jobs.
Paid in cash, phone to phone, or through approved payment services.
Hirers rate every job. Good work moves a worker up the colour levels, to a higher pay band.
Workers and hirers both earn rewards for every completed job.
Every job and rating adds to a resume the worker owns.
